Accelerate positive change
Greetings and welcome to my practice! If you would like to learn about my background and services, I encourage you to read on. Possessing over 20 years of clinical experience in the prevention, diagnosing, and treatment of behavioral health conditions for a broad range of presenting issues, I now focus care on two specific client populations: 1. high achieving and motivated adolescents and young adults (age 15 through 30); and, 2. business professionals.
My work with adolescents and young adults spans the latter half of the high school years, through college, and into early career employment. During these periods of continuous growth and identity formation, young adults have the greatest opportunity to establish foundational personal & interpersonal tools for success, a guiding life philosophy, and a self-reflection & self-care discipline. I particularly enjoy facilitating a process to make these aims possible.
The contemporary workplace has proven to be ever-challenging for business professionals. The desire to happily and successfully navigate work responsibilities with relational and family obligations is often the root of discontent. My work with individuals and professional couples often involves matters of anxiety, mood disturbance, substance use, sexuality, parenting, and career definition and change.
In developing strategies with clients to meet their treatment goals, I pride myself on being flexible on approach; as such, I often draw from positive psychology, personal construct, and systems-centered traditions. I believe in the inherent power of individuals and couples to draw on and leverage personal strengths to accelerate positive change.
I am a licensed New Jersey psychologist (#4277). My academic and professional background includes completion of a bachelor's degree in economics from Franklin & Marshall College; doctoral work in psychology at Miami University; and, advanced post-doctoral training at Emory University School of Medicine. Previously, I served on the faculty at Princeton University and Manhattan College, and directed behavioral health services at The College of New Jersey. I am certified as a Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP) through the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. Additionally, I hold a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) certification through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Presently, I serve as President of the NJ chapter of ICF.
Although I do not participate as an in-network provider for any commercial insurance plan, I am able to submit out-of-network (OON) claims as a courtesy on your behalf, thereby saving you the hassle of collecting receipts, filling out forms, and tracking payments. If you would like to learn more about me, my services, or payment, please be sure to connect. I look forward to hearing from you!
